Communications In An Ever-Changing World!

For businesses and everyday folks alike, communication is like the secret sauce that keeps everything moving forward. But let's face it, communication has had a makeover in our topsy-turvy world. Remember when you’d leave a message on an answering machine? Now, it’s all about texting or firing off an email. In this whirlwind of change, there's a lot to think about, but sometimes we just don’t. Relationships and opportunities often get caught in the crossfire, missing out on the chance to bloom because we didn’t quite "get" the communication memo.
So, how do we up our communication game? First, recognize that everyone has their own style. Introverts and extroverts are as different as cats and dogs. So, don’t freak out if an introvert doesn’t text back in three minutes; they might need 24 hours to craft the perfect response.
And in the business world? There’s a whole etiquette to follow. If a potential partner reaches out and you ghost them for 48 hours, they might start waving a red flag. Time to consider a new game plan!
Now, how about personal relationships? They’re a whole different ball game, but respect is key in both arenas. Talk to your loved one about your communication style. If you’re on different wavelengths, find a happy medium. If communication still hits a roadblock, point it out, give it some thought, and see if you can forge a new connection. If not, it might be time to move on.
I'm no communication guru, but through my own blunders, I've picked up a thing or two about what makes communication flow or flop.
And remember, communication is a two-way street—don’t let anyone play you like a game of telephone! But know that if they attempt to do so, if there was not a ligitamate reason in the lack of communication, and if you discover the lack of communication was done purposefully. Know that the reflection of character is on them and not you. Proceed by respecting their silence, and continue to communicate with those who have your number.
